In terms of afforestation, forest establishment and forest conservation, the performance of 2022 is unprecedented for recent years

During the joint session of the Standing Committees on Territorial Management, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environmental Protection and Financial Credit and Budgetary Affairs in the National Assembly, Minister Hakob Simidyan presented digital data related to the forestry sector.

“2.1 billion drams were allocated under the forest management program, out of which 226 million drams were allocated for the maintenance costs of the Forestry Committee, 1.3 billion drams were allocated to “Hayantar” SNCO, and 387 million drams were planned and spent for reforestation and afforestation works. 360 million, the performance of which is 93 percent, I can say for direct comparison that the performance in 2021 is 62 percent, and in terms of afforestation, establishment of forests and forest protection, the performance of 2022 is unprecedented for recent years,” the minister noted.

Minister Hakob Simidyan also informed that in 2022, 173 million drams have been allocated for the development of forest management plans for Chambarak and Sevkar forestry branches, and also that by the end of 2023, 17 forestry enterprises of “Hayantar” SNCO will have management plans.
