A working group meeting created by the decision of the RA Prime Minister aimed at preventing possible forest fires took place
On June 25, the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs held a meeting of the working group established by the Prime Minister’s decision to monitor potential fire-threatening situations in forests and vegetated areas, fire prevention, quick response, fight against fires, their spread, and the elimination of their consequences. was conducted by the Director of Rescue Service – Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kamo Tsutsulyan.
Levon Azizyan, director of “HayHydromet” SNCO of the Ministry of Environment, Vardan Sargsyan, deputy head of the Eco-Patrol Service, Sevak Markosyan, director of “Hayantar” SNCO, Radik Oghikyan, director of “Khosrov Forest” state reserve, ministries, agencies, state and local participated in the meeting. representatives of self-government bodies, rescue workers.
The director of the rescue service emphasized the importance of rescuers observing fire safety rules in crowded places intended for recreation and tourism, including awareness measures using drones in the coastal zones of Lake Sevan from July 6.
Referring to the monitoring of the fire fighting situation, the Director of the Rescue Service highlighted the works carried out jointly with the employees of “Hayantar” SNCO in forested and vegetated areas.
Welcoming the establishment of the Eco-Patrol Service, the Director of the Rescue Service also referred to the training of 800 Eco-Patrols.
In order to prevent fires in forests and vegetated areas, it was suggested to carry out more active activities in the direction of conducting public awareness events, in particular, to prepare posters instructing fire prevention rules, awareness videos on rules of conduct.
During the session, the participants presented the completed works, recommendations were made regarding the solution of the existing challenges.
It was emphasized the formation of volunteer groups in the settlements near the forest, which will undergo appropriate training in the places.
